The Good, The Bad and The Ugly - Not necessarily in that order

This weekend, as all UM/OSU fans know, was the weekend for football. Everyone who cheers for the maize and blue or scarlet and gray know what weekend this was. Too bad the Wolverines didn't show up for the game. Well, that's unfair. They didn't do that bad. If not for that initial score by OSU (the fumble in the endzone by Forcier) it may have been a completely different ball game. Regardless, Michigan lost...again and OSU is on their way to the Rose Bowl. Ugh. I'm sure Rich Rodriguez was thinking, well we may suck but if I can win against Ohio State, it will all turn out okay. Guess he's worrying about his job security now. I would be. Two straight years of missing bowl games will have any coach revising the ol' resume.

The Lions won. I say again, the Lions won! Right now, Matthew Stafford is the stud du jour because of his guts playing with his possibly dislocated shoulder, throwing for the winning touchdown with no time left on the clock. Yeah, it was against the Browns which is almost like saying you beat the Raiders, but still, a win is a win and the Browns had like a 24-3 lead...in the first quarter. I was like many naysayers, thinking this was a death knell for the Lions, because they aren't exactly known for coming from behind with that type of deficit. And yet, they did. Brady Quinn must be pretty pissed after that game. He had four touchdown passes and still lost. Sucks to be Eric Mangini today, he of the "I called a timeout to let Matt Stafford back in the game" notoriety.

The Saints won again, but it was against the Bucs which isn't saying much. Bill Belichick is now saying, “I don’t think there’s any better team in football than the New Orleans Saints.” Not sure if this a good thing or a bad thing. I'm more of the glass half-empty kinda gal, so I'm thinking this is bound to jinx them. Monday night could be one ugly game. Regardless, Geaux Saints!

Pittsburgh is now out of QBs or so it seems. Big Ben was concussed (or so it looks) and the backup Charlie Batch (he was on the Lions!) has a messed up wrist and could be out the rest of the season. I think Mike Tomlin is now swimming up the proverbial creek looking for a paddle and he may be left with some QBs that were left by the wayside. Garcia seems to be the pick everyone thinks they are going for. Of course, Cleo Lemon's name has been thrown out there too. Yeah, not sure about that one. How about Joey Harrington (Lions again! And the Dolphins, and the Falcons, and the Saints...)? No one is talking about him, but I'm just sayin'.

It is now out that Kyle Boller (now of the St. Louis Rams) is dating Carrie Prejean. Well, we all know how I feel about her. Wonder if they sit together and have quiet debates about how Christian they are. Just sayin'. Bleh. What happened Kyle? Guess he has too much time on his hands since he hasn't been playing much in the last couple of years. May be playing soon if the reports of Marc Bulger being concussed are accurate.

The Raiders won. Yes, the Raiders won against the Bengals. Guess pulling JaMarcus was a good idea. I liked him as much as anyone else. After all, he's from LSU, but apparently that was just what they needed. Maybe there will be a resurgence from the bottom teams to take over the NFL. That would be cool.

Guess that's enough football for now. More to come. :)
