Okay, so I wrote on this lady last year. We read about how she totally freaked, threw her phone and started screaming at the airport, thus earning her a trip to a holding cell for a major timeout. Not to mention the whole, "I'm not a terrorist" thing which totally keys off police in an airport. Well, this is the end result. I'm not saying it's not tragic that she ended up dying, but I don't see how this even became a case to be heard by a judge. All parties involved admit to following procedure and her husband even said that she was unbalanced. I don't understand how they think they should be compensated because his mentally whacked wife didn't follow the normal protocol, ended up arrested and then hanged herself. How is this the city of Phoenix or their police department's fault? It's not. If you want to point the blame at someone, maybe you should look in the mirror. Harsh? Maybe, but as I stated before, if you knew a loved one was "unbalanced" and needing to check into a rehab facility for an alcohol problem, don't you think you would accompany them instead of sending her by herself? Maybe it's just me. Maybe I've become too callous, but somehow I don't see how the taxpayers of Arizona should be forced to pay out $8 million to their family for doing the right thing. Personal responsibility people. That's all I'm saying.
